MyMSU Portal Information

MyMSU Portal is MSU's four campus portal (MSU-Northern, MSU-Bozeman, MSU-Billings, MSU-Great Falls). A portal provides secure single login to various MSU systems and provides customizable access to information. The MyMSU Portal is also where you receive your email.

Your username for logging onto the MyMSU Portal is the same as the username you use for logging onto computers in the labs. If you don't know what your username is, please follow these directions.

Log into MyInfo (Banner Web)
From the MSU-Northern homepage, www.msun.edu click the MSUN Quick Links drop down list in the upper right corner and select Banner Web - MyInfo.

Click Enter Secure Area
Login using your Student ID and PIN #.
Click on "Announcing MyMSU Portal"

This page will tell you on what your Portal username is, and give you other information about the MyMSU Portal.

If you can't get logged into MyInfo to get your MyMSU Portal username, contact the Registrar's office and tell them you can't log into MyInfo.

A MyMSU quick reference guide is available on the portal login screen. Once you log on, a MyMSU tutorial and other helpful documentation are available on the Help Tab. You can also click the Help icon in the upper right corner of any page for training and help.

Your email address is your.username@myportal.montana.edu

If you have any questions about MyMSU Portal, please contact ITS Helpdesk at 265-3765. If you cannot get logged onto the Portal, you need to come to the Help Desk (Cowan Hall 117B) and bring your student ID.

General Information About Your MSUN Network Account

You automatically receive 200 MB of network storage. This storage is accessed through your My Documents folder. Anything you place in the My Documents folder will automatically be saved on a network server and will be available to you from any lab PC.

Your Username will be the same as your MyMSU Portal username (see the section above).

Your default password is your birth date in the format DD-MMM-YY. Be sure to include the dashes and CAPITALIZE the first three letters of the month. For example, if your birthday was March 3rd, 1988, your password will be 07-MAR-88. If your birthday was November 27th, 1986, your new password will be 27-NOV-86.

If you have any problems contact the ITS help desk at 265-3765 or come to Cowan Hall 117B (be sure to bring your student ID!).

Connect to Your Student Z: Drive from a Residence Hall or Northern's wireless network

If you are connected to the network in the Residence Halls or to the secure wireless network on campus and have Windows 2000, XP and Vista, you can connect to your student Z: drive. Click Here to download, unzip and run the program which creates this connection for you automatically.
